Warren Buffett is an American icon, a self-made, influential investor and one of the wealthiest people in the world. While living frugally himself, Warren is well-known for his generosity to others and especially his commitment to his community of Omaha.

Nebraska is one of only two US states, along with Maine, that allot electoral votes by congressional district. The second district of Nebraska is a key voting district—a swing district in which the votes of a small number of people can potentially determine the outcome of a national election.

Warren Buffett recently challenged the citizens of Omaha to “give the rest of the country a civics lesson” by increasing its voter participation. To that end, he personally spent a 12-hour Election Day assisting people needing a ride to reach the polls, via Omaha’s famous Ollie the Trolley. Throughout the day Warren engages with diverse voters, swapping stories, taking selfies, and personifying the selflessness of volunteers across the US, who give their time to assist fellow citizens on Election Day.
